This one feels a little personal

The WildKind Way

September 2026

Hello, dear Wildlings,

This past month I had a 10-year friendship come to an end. While I am grieving that loss, I've been reflecting on the growth that comes along with that. She set a boundary, which I completely respect. However, it changed something fundamental for me in our friendship.

It made me realize I needed more than what she could offer, and it was time to let that friendship go. In doing that, it allowed me to show up for myself.

As summer winds down, I feel myself preparing to rest. Can you feel it, too?

In the midst of my grief, I am comfortable. I'm ready to see what's next.

Wild heart,

Steph Butler

Fall Camp Deadline is Here

Do you love giggling over an inside joke? Sharing a yummy snack with a friend? Stepping outside your comfort zone where growth lives to try something fun?

That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Fall Camp.

It’s an unforgettable weekend, and yes, you will have FOMO if you miss it.

At the time I'm writing this, we have just 2 dorm spots and 3 tent spots left. These will sell out. If you'd like to participate in Secret Wildling (think Secret Sister) and receive an official Camp T-shirt, your spot must be reserved by September 4th.

Don’t miss out! You will absolutely regret not coming, but you'll be so glad you did.

Pre-Fall Camp Meetup

We're taking over the first 30 minutes of September's Arts & Drafts on Tuesday, September 22nd at 6 PM! We'll be answering all of your burning questions about camp, what to pack and expect this year.

You'll get a chance to mingle with other campers and shake out all those pre-camp jitters.

Bring a craft or game and a snack to stay after! All Wildlings are welcome.

Four-Season Friendship Odyssey: Welcome to Fall

This final season of the Four-Season Friendship Odyssey is all about appreciation, generosity, and shared service. It’s the perfect time to reflect on the year, support the people around you, and sprinkle a little extra kindness into your community.

How to participate

To successfully complete the Fall season, Wildlings should aim to complete at least 5 activities between September 1 and November 30.

Fall Camp Wouldn’t Happen Without Them

Fall Camp is made possible in part by the generous businesses and community partners who believe in what we’re building. We’re incredibly grateful for their support and for helping us create a weekend full of connection, growth, and a little WildKind magic.

Please keep these businesses in mind when you’re looking for local services and ways to support the people who support WildKind.

A Gentle Invitation for Newer Wildlings

New here or nervous about attending? You do not need to know anyone, bring a friend, or be naturally outgoing. Let us know you are coming alone, and we can connect you with a Wild Ambassador before the event.

Each year that passes with WildKind, we become more grateful for all the ways you show up in this community. Every gathering, conversation, and shared experience adds another layer to what we’re building together.

With Fall Camp just around the corner, September feels like a month of anticipation, connection, and a little bit of magic.

Here’s to making room for what matters, showing up as we are, and finding joy in the people beside us.

With love,

Steph, Angela, Jess, Stacy, and Bekah

The WildKind Way October 2026 EVENTS SHOP SEND SOME SUNSHINE DONATE VOLUNTEER The Magic of Finding Your People We all crave connection, but finding meaningful friendships as adults isn't always easy. It's one of the reasons WildKind means so much to me. This weekend, as we gather for our third annual Fall Camp, I'm looking forward to watching that familiar magic unfold. Newcomers arrive a little apprehensive, and by Sunday, they're laughing with people who feel like old friends, exchanging...

The WildKind Way August 2026 EVENTS SHOP SEND SOME SUNSHINE DONATE VOLUNTEER I've been reading about what happens every time you show up for yourself. Every time you try something new, walk into a room even when you feel nervous, honor a boundary, ask for help, or choose rest when you need it, you build trust with yourself. You prove that fear does not have to make every decision and that your needs are important. Those small moments add up. Each one makes the next brave choice a little...

The WildKind Way July 2026 EVENTS SHOP SEND SOME SUNSHINE DONATE VOLUNTEER I’ve been thinking a lot about imposter syndrome lately, especially how often it shows up in spaces where I actually belong. For instance, my background includes over 25 years in real estate and mortgage, but there are still days where I doubt my skills and abilities. Building WildKind meant facing those fears head-on. I knew literally nothing about starting a nonprofit or building a community, but I knew I could...
